I really enjoy listening to these shows. I really like the songs that they play in them. It is perfect for relaxing after I do my college work. I am working on an extensive collection of phish CDs. This was a great buy because it was six discs for under forty dollars. I have a cd case specifically for Grateful Dead and Phish CDs. I am looking forward to purchasing more box sets from Phish.com.

Two great shows, and the sound quality of the recordings is fantastic. It occurs to me though that if the Phish of 97-98 knew that the Phish of 2021 was sending me marketing emails to the tune of "20% off gifts for kids," they would be ashamed. What has happened to our beloved band?

I realize I'm very late to the party but I just picked up this Ventura Box set it arrived yesterday and I have listened to both shows once! I am more than happy and excited w/my purchase. These r 2 Phenomenal shows from my favorite Era of Phish, The Mid 90's will always very special years in Phistory. The sound quality on these discs is impeccable. For me these 6 discs capture the magic of these 2 Phish shows both from July 1997 and July 1998. Both the Production and the Audio Engineering Team lead by Paul Languedoc has never steered me wrong and they didn't disappoint at all w/this release. This is a Multi Track recording which is simply amazing! There R some fantastic songs on here along w/many fabulous Jams that were performed and captured here on these discs! Some of the highlights from the 1997 show 4 me were a base driven "Wolfman's Brother" > "Chalk Dust Torture", a deep and spacey "Stash" and "Character Zero" in Set I. A "Free" > "David Bowie" > "Cities" > "David Bowie" combination dominated the show's second half with some of the summer's biggest jams. The 1998 highlight for me were: Bathtub Gin" "Water In The Sky", the swinging funk of "The Moma Dance" and a "Split Open And Melt" Set I closer. Set II exploded with a bass-and-drums-fueled "Drowned" > "Makisupa Policeman" pairing that utilized Page's synth stylings to seamlessly blend rock and reggae. "Maze" led to a perfectly placed "Sea And Sand". All in all this release is more than worth the price of admission, happy Phishin' !!

I was at these shows and it is such a fun venue. It’s far from my home in Florida, but I enjoy traveling in southern Cal so this was a no brainer. I remember pulling in the parking lot and there was a heady west coast vibe wafting around the parking area. The day was perfect and it wasn’t too hot for a summer show. That nice Southern California seabreeze on that July 20 th show. I had the phish tickets by mail ticket with the dinosaur with a stick art on it. Ticket number 1598. General admission. Original ticket price (1998) 25$.
